Follow a Diet that Boosts Fertility

Infertility is a problem that affects nearly 11% of women that want to conceive. Some of these women need to undergo surgery or hormonal therapies, but others can improve fertility by merely changing their diet.  You will want to find out what foods are best to increase your chances of conception.

Best Diets for Fertility

There are a number of different foods that can increase your chances of becoming pregnant. Here are some dietary tips to follow if you have fertility problems.
Take Zinc Supplements
A number of studies have shown that zinc is useful for boosting fertility. You should consider taking at least 15 mg of zinc each day to increase fertility. However, you need to be careful not to take too much. Some studies have shown that taking over 150 mg per day can worsen fertility problems and lead to other serious health risks.
Drink Whole Milk
Most people try to avoid drinking whole milk, because it is high in fat and cholesterol. However, it appears to be a good for women that are trying to conceive. You may want to try drinking at least one glass of whole milk each day in order to increase your chances of conception.
More Lean Meats
Considerable research has found that protein deficiency is one of the leading causes of infertility. You will want to consider adding more meat to your diet to increase your chances of becoming pregnant. If you are reluctant to eat fatty foods, then you should consider eating lean meats instead. Lean protein chicken, beef and pork have been shown to promote fertility.
Low Caffeine
Studies have shown that women consuming high levels of caffeine are more likely to face fertility problems. The risk is particularly high with women that drink three or more cups a day. You will want to consider decreasing or eliminating the amount of caffeine you consume.
Whole Grains
Many women are trying to swear away grains, because they contain high levels of simple carbohydrates that are shown to lead to weight gain and diabetes. However, whole grains are much healthier than white bread and other filler products. Whole grains are also a rich source of folic acid, a nutrient shown to increase conception. You may want to eat a couple slices of whole grain bread each to become pregnant more easily.

Change Your Diet

Trying to become pregnant can be extremely frustrating for women suffering from fertility problems. They can always visit Invitro Clinic Kansas City if they need an IVF. However, changing your diet can also be a good thing to try before undergoing surgery or any other treatment.
