Teen Challenges

Having two teens is presenting different challenges that I am now trying to learn to handle. If you have teens you may know what I am talking about. Especially a teenage daughter.

Every thing from her all of a sudden claiming she wants to be a vegetarian. Which I am ok with, but she is so picky she barely likes any food - never mind any vegetarian foods. Now I've got to come up with some different recipes. I found this on Martha Stewart website - I may try making these tonight:

(c @Martha Stewart.com - Vegetable Enchiladas

To her wanting her belly button pierced. Which with a parents permission (in my state anyway) can be done under 18. Well after she kept begging us - we let her do it. We took her to a tattoo place and she had her belly button pierced. A lot of her friends have it too. And might as well get it done, when you have the body for it - lol.

She has double ear piercings too, and the "cartilage piercing" on top of one ear. Next she wants the "bar" piercing. We may have created a monster! Would you let your teen get this done?

  4. My sister got her belly button pierced. She was probably in college at the time. Since then she has tattooed her whole back. I shudder! Kids go through what they go through, I guess.

    1. If my daughter wants any tatoos those can wait til she is 18 and she will have to pay for that herself - lol

  5. If your daughter's biggest rebellion is a piercing, I say you are doing a fantastic job of parenting. Good job mom!

  6. I think it's wise to pick your battles...a belly piercing isn't going to hurt anything, and like you say, she might as well enjoy it while she can!
