I took these pictures of a cougar or mountain lion. As far as I know a cougar is the same thing as a mountain lion.
We went to the Stone Zoo in Massachusetts a few months ago. Now sadly I have heard on the news that this zoo along with the Franklin Park Zoo in Massachusetts may be closed. I remember going to the Stone Zoo since I was like 3 years old. I really hope they can save these zoos. Since I don't know what may happen to all the animals.
Beautiful cat. Perhaps other zoos will take the critters?
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous animal! Great photos
ReplyDeletePretty animal. I'm sure if they do have to close, other places will take them in.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cat!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure other zoos or refuge farms would take the animals.
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
I love the zoo!
ReplyDeleteAt our zoo they created these tunnels to the center of the cougar exhibit so kids can go in and look out this glass house right at them.
Purdy kitty!
ReplyDeleteI hope the zoo isn't closed! I love cats (big or small!) so thanks for sharing these photos :)
ReplyDeletelovely post, love the cougar.
ReplyDeleteNice captures!
ReplyDeleteWhat is going to be left after all these closings?
ReplyDeletegreat photos, too bad about the closing.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm visiting from Harriet's. Those are great pics!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cat! That's too bad the zoo is closing.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope they are transferred to another zoo.

Great photos. Our zoo's animals are always sleeping!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! Saw you were featured at I am Harriets and even though I have been here before and obviously see you are in NH just as I am (did you comment on my blog post about me trying connect with local New England bloggers?) I wanted to stop by and say hi!
ReplyDeleteNever been to a zoo, sad that one will be closed or is closed :-(
Brandy
I sure wouldn't want to run into one of those things at night!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful creatures aren't they? We have full grown massive mountain lions that cross our yard every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteThey look just like the guy in the bottom photo. But, they are almost phantoms in the wild.
I spotted a female about 2 years ago. She was as tall as our large breed German Sheppard and I know weighed at least as much.
We have ducks and geese so they roam through about once a month or so looking for a nibble.
What a shame you guys are going to lose your zoo. Are they definitely closing for good or possibly just going to build a new and more updated one?
I know FT. worth closed and now they have one of the premier natural habitat zoos around.
So keep your fingers crossed!
Happy Monday Sue!!:-)
So regal! Great pictures :)
ReplyDeleteVisiting today through Harriet :)
I'm a regular visitor... but I'm dropping over from Harriet's today :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!

I heard that across the nation many zoo's are going under and some of the animal will likely have to be put down and that is so sad to me. Our Zoo though is taking advantage and buying many of the animals and expanding.
