VGNO - Uh Oh Better Call Maaco

VGNO (or virtual girls night out) time again. If you want to join or find out more info, head over to Ann's blog @ Ann Again ... and again.

I'm somewhat in a bad mood. While I was grocery shopping someone in the parking lot hit my car. They actually made some sort of announcement in the store, but I totally ignored it thinking it couldn't be me.

When I finally came out of the store, a young girl was in her car next to mine. She had hit the drivers side of my car. She said a kid had run out behind her car when she was pulling out, so to avert him she ended up hitting my car.

To make a long story short, they don't want to call their insurance, because, I think she was a teenager. And her mother showed up and wants us not to go through the insurance. Whatever! As long as they pay me what ever the damages are!

Anywho - Ann wanted to know if you were ever told you look like a celebrity. When I was in High School a guy I know always said I sounded like Stevie Nicks. And then a few yrs. ago a Dental Assistant that was cleaning my teeth told me I reminded her of someone from the movie "You've Got Mail." Not Meg Ryan she said, but the girl who played her friend in the movie. I had no idea. When I got home I looked who was in that movie. All I could find out was Paker Posey. Don't ask me!?

  2. Parker Posey is really pretty. Nice compliment. :)
I used to be told I looked like Jo from the Facts of Life. Um, yeah....

  4. OH geez, when I was a teenager I did the same thing (well I never almost hit a person) and my parents did the same thing.
I hope it all works out for you. I hate dealing with other people and money like that!
    Happy VGNO!

  8. Awww! Sorry about the accident - at least it didn't end up in a hit-and-run, so hopefully they'll pay for the repairs.

I love Parker Posey! I'd definitely take that as a compliment! ;)

    Happy VGNO! :)

  9. Thanks everyone for the comments. I'm sure she meant it as a compliment, it was just a little weird coming from your dental assistant - lol. Or is that just me?

  11. That sucks about your car. What a way to start the weekend. Bummer. Last week on Friday I backed my car into my friend's pillaster pulling out of her driveway (I was in too much of a rush I guess). It was really NOT funny at the time, but I'm starting to see some humor in it. I got a post out of it anyway so at least there's that.

I can totally see Parker Posey. Also, Rachel MacAdams (not sure I'm spelling that right) and Sandra Bullock (although they don't look a thing like each other). I put a link to a site where you can make a side by side comparison of your photo with a celeb's. It's great fun actually. It's on my blog--check it out if you have time.

Hope your weekend gets better. Happy VGNO!

  14. Hi Sue,
I'm sorry your car was hit. At least the girl stayed. I hope they pay you for the damages. Someone had hit my Jeep, while I was at Wal-Mart and they left. Now I have a indent in it. That was a compliment Paker Posey is pretty. I have been told before that a person looks just like me. I think that would freak me out, if I saw this twin that I don't have. :-)

  16. Noooo... Parker Posey played Tom Hanks's girlfriend, not Meg Ryan's friend.

Meg Ryan's friend, a character named Christina that worked at The Shop Around the Corner, was played by Heather Burns...

... and she's prettier than Parker Posey. :)

    Enjoying my first VGNO! Cheers!
