Above is a picture of my kids. That picture was actually taken a couple of years ago at Christmas time. A couple of years later they look different. They grow up so fast!
When my children were born I didn't hear anything about saving their cord blood. If it was an option, I honestly didn't know about it. So, unfortunately I didn't save their cord blood.
Well now there is definitely that option for people having children. Cryo-Cell is helping families protect their children's future. Just read the following testimonial from a mother who is using Cryo-Cell:
"My children are the most precious gifts that I will ever have and I want to do everything I can to make sure they are well. While I was pregnant with my first child, I would see articles and ads about cord blood and it bothered me that it was so expensive but what if I one day needed this blood. The reality of having only one chance or it really went in the garbage kept me wondering if I would regret not investing. What if he had cancer or his dad or I were sick, would that blood have been the cure? Through research, I came across Cryo-Cell International, Inc., a company with the most reasonable rates and the assurance of two holding facilities.
When I was pregnant with my second child, we wondered if one bank was enough? Finances were tighter and should we spend the money? Then we realized that his brothers blood might not match for the new baby. The next day, stories were breaking about how Cord blood had saved or changed the lives of children, one cancer, one cerebral palsy. Then we discovered that a friend was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. He didn't bank his daughters blood and wished he had. Three years prior, I lost a friend to renal cancer when she was 29. We felt like it was our answer.
We are just beginning to see miracles that this blood can bring. We have two "life insurance policies", that is how we look at it. If anyone in the family gets ill, there is a chance that the blood could save our lives. If we don't use it, then it is there for our son's children."

I wish I had this option when my kids were born. Heaven forbid if they ever get seriously sick or are diagnosed with a disease, but if I had their cord blood I could use it to save their lives. Since cord blood is known to treat over 70 different diseases. This really is an investment for your children's future.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteVery cute picture of your kids. This is a very good thing to do. I did this on my last child and felt really good about it. Nice post and I hope more people do this. Have a great week! :-)
I looked into this while pregnant with my children.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to do this too. Do you know how much this costs?
ReplyDeleteI haven't banked my childrens' chord blood for the very same reasons that woman stated. But I know it is a good idea. Thank you for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteyou have such good looking kids:)Yes I heard that cords are very helpful especially in immediate family when needed. If only I knew it back then and if only I had the money to do it too i probably would! Tc and enjoy the rest of the week:)
ReplyDeletethats a lovely picture of the kids sue. they look really happy together
ReplyDeleteJust concerned that Cryo-Cell may not be around when I need my baby's stem cells.
ReplyDeleteI missed the opportunity for my first child, but went with Cord Blood Registry for the second, after doing considerable research.
