Thursday Thirteen #18 "Positives of No Computer"
header by Goofy Girl
As many of you may know, my computer died awhile ago. I was without a computer at home for almost a month. And had to rely on my library for my computer memory. But there were actually some positives that came out of it. Here's 13 positive things that happened when I didn't have a computer.
1. I finished 3 books
2. I finished an embroidery project I literally started 5 years ago.
3. I started another embroidery project
4. I am even teaching my daughter how to embroider
5. Lots of laundry got done
6. Lots of dishes got done
7. More vacuuming was done
8. Got more sleep (because wasn't staying up late on computer)
9. Got errands done earlier (without computer would leave house earlier to get errands done)
10. No fighting (didn't have to listen to anyone fighting saying "My turn on the computer!"
11. Painted my sons room
12. Watched some movies (and actually paid attention to them)
13. Spent more time with family & friends (not sure if it has to do with not having computer, but didn't feel tied down to computer so was able to do it)
My computer was broken for over a month and I was MISERABLE. House was squeaky clean though! :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I was without the internet once for four weeks, and I told myself to see it as a challenge and a learning experience.
ReplyDeleteEven though it did free me up for other activities I still really missed it.
Great list! So very true. Come visit my TT.... it's a list of my addictions.... including the computer. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy TT :)
Wow! That sounds like my house. I swear sometimes our computer controls our lives. But I'm still glad to hear that you have a new computer up and running!
ReplyDeleteI have a love-hate relationship with my computer. It takes way too much of my time, but it gives me so much enjoyment. I'm hooked.
ReplyDeletei feel incomplete without my computer :)
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting mine.
No way I could get even one book done without a computer. But then, I'm writing rather than reading.
ReplyDeleteVacuuming? *looking over shoulder* Ahhhh, yeah. I should do that.
The things I would get done if I didn't have my computer! ... I certainly don't want to find out, however.
ReplyDeleteKudos on surviving without your computer. Happy TT!
ReplyDeleteGood for you finding the upside! When my comp is down, I'm lost. All blogging and playing aside, it's how I do all my bills and business living so far out in the desert.
ReplyDeleteHappy TT!
TT # 23 Thorni is SFR!
Isn't it amazing how much of a time zapper the computer is?? Great job on getting all that done.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder how much more I could get done not being glued to my computer!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if you are into blog awards or not, but I have awarded you as a Fabulous blogger here ->

I am not a big fan of the rules to accepting blog awards, but I guess we have to keep passing it on.
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteThat would of been bad not having your computer for almost a month. You did get a lot done without it though. It is kinda nice to think of the positive side of things. I know I would miss my computer, I am so addicted to it. :-)
That is a great list. Crazy how much time we spend on these things!
