#1. Does your family usually eat meals in the kitchen or somewhere else?
In the kitchen. No TV. That's a rule.
#2. Who usually does the dishes in your house?
I do mostly, my husband will help more on the weekends.
#3. What’s your favorite small appliance or tool in the kitchen? My two slice toaster. I like it for bagels, toast, english muffins, etc. better then the toaster oven.
#4. This one’s for my son. Share a recipe for chili. I love chili, but never really made it myself. But here's a recipe I found in one of my crockpot cookbooks. It looks so easy I think I'll have to try it.
Short-Cut Chili Con Carne
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1 to 2 tsp. chili powder
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans
brown ground beef, drain fat. In crockpot combine all the ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours. Remove bay leaf. Makes 6 to 7 servings.
I changed to a 4-slice toaster which is easier when you have kids because you can do more than one child at once...very handy.

ReplyDeleteI used to have that 'no TV' rule too but I've relaxed it to let the kids catch a good movie if there's one on. They're so busy with school they hardly get to watch much TV, the poor things.
ReplyDeleteSiiiiiiigh! Everyone is putting beans in their chili! Are there no purists among us?
ReplyDeleteI am not a huge chili person and I don't think mine is very good when I make it. We did have chili at Hunter's party yesterday and my Mom made it. My step-dad brought to my Dad's (that is where the party was) and my Dad decided it was not enough so he made some too and said it was a chili cook-off between him and my mom. Yes, we are functionally dysfunctional! They were both good.
